Number of top products in common increases for all three countries

100 main exports overlapped with major export offerings of Japan, and 29 with China’s top exports. The most fiercely competing items were semi-conductors, as well as television and computer components, as they rank as major exports in all three countries.

Among the top 10 exports of Korea, transmitters, receivers, and computer components are in competition with similar Chinese products, and automobiles and auto components compete with Japan’s offerings.

Out of 100 main exports of Korea, items competing with Japan increased sharply to 45 products in 2005 from 36 in 2000 and 32 in 1995. Main exports that overlap with Chinese products increased as well, to 29 in 2005 from 22 in 2000.
