South Korean exports reached a record high in May despite concerns that a firmer won versus the U.S. dollar may sap overseas demand, a government report showed Thursday.
Exports increased 21.1 percent from a year earlier to US$28 billion in April, marking a double-digit gain for the fourth straight month, while imports amounted to $26 billion last month, up 23.1 percent from the year earlier, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy said.
