Despite sluggish consumer demand in the South Korean domestic automotive market, sales of imported vehicles rose by 3% in 2017, according to figures released by the Korean Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA). The number of newly imported cars in the past year was 233,088, which was up from 225, 579 in 2016. Mercedes-Benz ranked first in the import car market for the second consecutive year, setting a record of over 60,000 unit sales. BMW took the second spot in the South Korean market, while Lexus, Toyota, and Land Rover rounded out the Top 5. The photo shows a BMW 520d model.
