[Photo] Korean washing machines prevail in US market despite trade safeguards

Although US President Donald Trump signed an order imposing trade safeguards on South Korean washing machines on Jan. 23, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics took first and second place, respectively, in the US market for washing machines. Trump’s order marked the first time in 16 years that such a safeguard was imposed, as the measure is strictly regulated by the World Trade Organization (WTO) to prevent abuse.
