[Photo] LG Chem to build green power plant in Seoul

LG Chem announced on Sept. 6 that it has officially begun construction on a solar power plant, dubbed “Hope Green Plant,” in cooperation with the Seoul metropolitan government and the Energy Peace Foundation. The 622kW power plant is expected to provide enough renewable energy to power 200 homes, with the environmental benefits of planting 130,000 pine trees over a period of 20 years. Furthermore, 50 percent of the plant’s profits will be donated to the surrounding community, while the other half will be redirect into public projects that span the entire city of Seoul.
