It’s been discovered that Apple has been forcing retailers to buy and display their demo phones (phones made for marketing purposes), threatening to ban retailers from selling their products if they didn’t display them for at least a year. Apple even dictated how the demo phones were to be arranged and displayed. The Korea Mobile Distributors Association (KMDA) released a press release on Nov. 21 saying that Apple has been forcing Korean retailers to purchase and display demo phones and threatening to ban them from selling Apple products if they failed to comply with demands. The photo shows consumers lining up to purchase the new iPhone XS Max in Tokyo on Sept. 21.
