Following a crash of a Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft under Ethiopian Airlines on Mar. 10, the South Korean government has ordered that all South Korean airlines suspend flights of the suspected aircraft. South Korean airlines Korean Air, Jeju Air, T’Way Air and Eastar Jet have recently signed contracts to purchase Boeing 737 Max 8 planes as part of their fleets, while Eastar Jet had already been operating two 737 Max 8s before the crash in Ethiopia. Eastar Jet has announced that it will work to ensure that customers who have already booked flights on the airline’s 737 Max 8 aircraft will be provided alternative means of travel. South Korea has joined a list of 12 countries that have banned flights of Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft since the Ethiopian Airlines tragedy.
