[Photo] Lotte finishes building petrochemical plant in Louisiana

South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon and Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin attended a ceremony celebrating the completion of a Lotte Chemical petrochemical plant in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on May 9. Lotte Chemical began construction of the plant began in June 2016. Although it was built in collaboration with the US firm West Lake Chemical, Lotte owns a 90% stake in the plant, which is a production facility for ethylene glycerol, which is commonly used in the manufacture of polyester fibers and in antifreeze formulations.
