[Photo] Samsung to launch Galaxy Fold on Aug. 9

On July 25, Samsung Electronics announced that it will officially launch its first foldable smartphone on Aug. 9. The launch was originally scheduled for April, but technical mishaps and consumer reports of cracked screens caused an embarrassing delay in the electronics giant’s effort to be the world’s first provider of foldable smartphones. In its statement, Samsung announced that it had updated the Galaxy Fold’s designs to offer “the best user experience possible,” adding that it had strengthened the foldable hinge where cracks occurred in previous versions.
