[Photo] Samsung Electronics to release 5G integrated mobile processor

Samsung Electronics has announced the development of its latest mobile processors, the Exynos 980, which combines a 5G modem with an application processor. Qualcomm announced in February that it would be developing a 5G modem chip and mobile application processor, but has yet to go into the production phase. Samsung Electronics will supply its Exynos 980 to consumers starting this month. This is a significant development, as Qualcomm is currently the world’s top maker of 5G semiconductors.
