After being forced to go on unpaid leave following the shutdown of GM Korea’s plant Gunsan, North Jeolla Province, workers returned to work for the first time in a year and six months, their new workplace being GM Korea’s Bupyeong plant in Incheon. The GM Korea branch of the Korean Metal Workers’ Union (KMWU) confirmed on Nov. 11 that 298 workers who had been on unpaid leave went to their first day of work at the Bupyeong plant. GM Korea shut down its Gunsan plant in May 2018. (KMWU)
