German automaker BMW has signed a supply contract with Samsung SDI for 2.9 billion euros worth of electric car battery cells. During the 2019 BMW Group Supplier Day Korea event in Incheon on Nov. 21, BMW Korea announced that BMW will purchase battery cells from Samsung SDI from 2021 to 2031. Samsung SDI’s fifth-generation lithium-ion battery cells are expected to power BMW’s latest series of green vehicles. (BMW Group Korea)
