The OECD has projected a meager growth rate of 2% for South Korea in 2019. The latest figure reflected a decrease of 0.1 percentage point from its September projection. In its Economic Outlook report released on Nov. 21, the OECD predicted that South Korea’s economic growth rate for 2021 will stop at 2.3%. Sluggish global growth and unpredictable US-China trade tensions were named as key factors negatively impacting South Korea’s export-reliant economy.
