South Korean pharmaceutical company SK Chemicals, an affiliate of the SK Group conglomerate, has won FDA approval for its drug for treating Alzheimer’s disease. SK Chemicals’ patch-type drug became the first Alzheimer’s drugs developed by a South Korean company to receive FDA approval, paving the way for the drug to infiltrate the US market. Patients merely have to attach the patch to their skin once a day for continuous delivery of the drug. The drug, SID710, is SK Chemicals’ version of Novartis’ Exelon Patch. (SK Chemicals)
