[Photo] Lineage 2M tops game charts just 9 hours after release

The massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) Lineage 2M, sequel to the extremely popular Lineage M, is already breaking records in the South Korean game industry since its release on Nov. 27. Created by the game developer NCSoft, Lineage 2 became the top-grossing app in South Korea’s Apple App Store just nine hours after its release. Its predecessor Lineage M had remained in the top spot in both Apple’s App Store and Google Play since its release in June 2017. On Sept. 5, ahead of Lineage 2M’s buildup, NCSoft CEO Kim Taek-jin told reporters, “There will be no games in the next few years that will be able to technically follow Lineage 2M."
