Trying on different hats

Conservative groups and intellectuals, former ministers of defense and foreign affairs, and former police superintendents are protesting the government’s move to claim wartime command authority over the country’s military.

One among them sees the irony, since he was a police chief who used to crush public protests. Now he’s part of the "resistance."
