A super-sized sansam, or wild ginseng, was shown in a public exhibition by the Committee of the World Ginseng Expo in Gumsan, South Chungcheong Province on September 19. The giant root is 1m long and has been growning for 80 years. The owner said, "I dug it out of a corner of a mountain last year. Just the day before, I had dreamed of being awarded a presidential prize." An official of the committee said that the monster root “is likely to be biggest in the world. It is bigger than the 60.6㎝ plant that was dug out of the Chinese side of Mount Baekdu in 1982."
