An array of signs wishing for the Unification of Korea hangs on December 29 behind the Imjingak Manbaedan, just 7 km south of the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea. Imjingak Manbaedan is set up so that families separated by the division of Korea can still perform traditional ancestral ceremonies on holidays like Seolnal, or New Year’s, and Chuseok, the harvest festival.
