Thirty-two years after their execution, eight men alleged to be members of the People’s Revolutionary Party ("In Hyeok Dang") were posthumously found not guilty of treason. They were hastily executed after being found guilty of crimes against the state in a trial based on fabricated evidence.

Nonetheless, the man ultimately behind their "judicial murders," the former dictator Park Chung-hee, is still highly praised by two presidential hopefuls: his own daughter, Park Geun-hye, and the former Seoul mayor Lee Myung-bak, who tries to look like the senior Park.
