[Photo] Ski season opens in Korea prior to Pyeonchang Olympics

Prior to the start of the 2018 Winter Olympics in February, the Yongpyeong Ski Resort in Gangwon Province marked the start of the 2017/18 ski season when it became the first ski resort in the country to open on Nov. 17. Resort personnel marked the occasion by giving a ski and snowboard performance. Pink slopes were opened on this day, and artificial snow is being used to create new red and yellow runs, which will be ready for skiers and snowboarders from Nov. 18. (Yonhap News)
