Two artists of the Minjung Art movement, Lee Sang-ho and Roh Joo-il, will display about thirty of their drawings at an exhibition being held at the Won Art Gallery in the Koong neighborhood of Gwangju from Dec. 9-18. One of Roh’s pieces is called, “A Baby Whale’s Dream” which the artist says represents the souls of the victims of the Sewol ferry sinking. “Through this drawing, we can see how the victims’ souls become the butterflies of a good world, and how they can fill a long-standing desire by freely moving about the sea with the baby whales,” said Roh. The exhibition is being sponsored by the Gwangju People’s Artist Association.
