[Photo] An invitation to the Inje Icefish Festival in Gangwon Province

The Inje Icefish Festival in Inje County, Gangwon Province, will open on Jan. 27 and run until Feb. 4. This is the 18th year of the festival, after the first one was held in 1998. It was designated as a cultural tourism festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism from 2004-2010, but was cancelled in 2015 and 2016 due to drought and abnormal temperatures. Visitors to the festival can enjoy a number of events, including ice fishing, an icefish sleigh ride, and icefish cooking. There will also be a national ice soccer competition at this year’s festival. (provided by Inje County)
