Lotte World Tower in Seoul’s Songpa District hosted the 2018 International Vertical Marathon Sky Run on May 13. Around 1,500 participants ran the building’s 2,917 steps from the first floor to the observation deck situated on 123rd floor of Korea’s tallest building, which stands 555 meters high. The event is recognized by the Vertical World Circuit (VWC), which operates under the International Skyrunning Federation (ISF). Poland’s Piotr Lobodzinski and Australia’s Suzy Walsham from Australia came in at first place in the men’s and women’s divisions, with respective times of 15 minutes, 53 seconds and 18 minutes, 45 seconds.
