[Photo] 2019 FINA World Aquatics Championships kicks off in Gwangju

On July 11, a day ahead of the opening ceremony for the 2019 FINA World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju, a celebratory concert was held to kick off the event. Held under the theme of “Dive into Peace,” the competition comprises 194 countries and over 2,600 athletes, making it one of the five largest global sporting events after the FIFA World Cup and the Winter and Summer Olympics. It also makes South Korea the fourth country to host all five of the world’s mega sporting events: the Summer and Winter Olympics, the World Cup and the World Championships in Athletics.
