The Seoul Digital Forum 2006-World ICT Summit, hosted by SBS, a local broadcaster, and sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Communication, will kick off on Thursday for a two-day run.

At the gathering, IT experts including heads of Microsoft Corp.

Qualcomm Inc., Siemens AG and NTT DoCoMo Inc. plan to exchange their views on global IT industries ranging from digital contents to games, semiconductors and robots, organizers said.

The participants from South Korea include Hwang Chang-gyu, president of Samsung Electronics Co., and Nam Joong-soo, chief executive of KT Corp.

On Thursday, Steven Ballmer, CEO of software giant Microsoft, will deliver a speech presenting his business plans for the Korean market, which will be aired live on SBS, organizers said.

The third of its kind this year, the forum will be held under the theme of "Digital Intelligence: Future of Digital Evolution."

Participants will hold small-group discussion sessions throughout the two-day forum to exchange ideas on each sector of the global IT industry.

On the sidelines of the forum, the "World IT Summit" will be held on Friday, brining together IT ministers from 15 countries, who will discuss how to narrow the information gap around the world, according to organizers.
