South Korea's Unification Minister Lee Jong-seok propose a toast to his North's counterpart at the Inter-Korea's Ministerial talks on July 11.

Says dialogue will continue, whether or not N.K. rejoins

Unification Minister Lee Jong-seok said during an interview on MBC radio July 14 that he is ready to hold discussions with five of the six nations participating in the six-party talks on the North Korean nuclear issue if Pyongyang does not want to return to the process.

"We will do all we can to get North Korea to return to the six-party talks," he said. "But if that does not work, we should get together and talk because we can't procrastinate forever."

"Inter-Korean dialogue is going to be difficult, but it will not cease," Minister Lee said, going on to clarify that he feels the North is also of the thinking that the momentum of the dialogue needs to be maintained. However, he also hinted that he thinks it is unlikely there is going to be a resumption of dialogue any time soon.

The Minister made similar comments later in the day while attending a meeting at the headquarters of the ruling Uri Party.
