Fourteen Korean-Americans were elected into state and city governments in Tuesday's mid-term elections, almost double the number from the previous race two years ago.
There were nine winners in the 2004 elections.
Four of Tuesday's winners were in California, including Michelle Park Steel, elected to head the Board of Equalization.
Kang Sukhee won the race for Irvine city council.
Mary Chung Hayashi snatched the race for California State Assembly while Jane Kim, the youngest Korean-American to seek an elected position, was voted onto the San Francisco School Board.
In Michigan, Hoon-yung Hapgood successfully challenged his opponent to enter the state assembly with 87 percent support. John Lim in Oregon was elected for the fifth time to the state assembly.
Paul Shin and Judge Mariane Chi Spearman have won spots in Washington's state senate, both of them uncontested.
In New Jersey, Philip Choi is the predicted winner for Leonia city council in New Jersey.
Donna Mercado Kim, who ran for Hawaii state senate, also won, along with Sylvia J. Luke and Sharon Har, who vied for state assembly.
Francis Allen successfully ran for state assembly in Nevada.
