South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun arrived in Indonesia Sunday for a three-day state visit to the Southeast Asian nation prior to participating in an annual East Asian summit in the Philippines next week.

Roh will hold a summit with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono Monday to discuss means of strengthening their countries' bilateral ties, including cooperation in energy development and other areas of joint interest, presidential officials said.

He is also scheduled to meet with Indonesian business leaders and Korean immigrants there, according to the officials.

The South Korean president is scheduled to make a three-day visit to Australia from Tuesday, followed by a trip New Zealand before attending the Dec. 11-13 ASEAN Plus Three summit in Cebu, Philippines.

The summit, an annual event, will bring together the heads of state from all 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian nations (ASEAN) plus South Korea, Japan and China.
