[Photo] President Moon named “Global Rethinker” by Foreign Policy

The US magazine, “Foreign Policy” listed South Korean President Moon Jae-in as one of its 50 “Global Rethinkers.” Moon was praised for his efforts to rebuild democratic leadership following the impeachment of former president Park Geun-hye, as well as for his approach to dealing with the North Korean nuclear program. The profile of Moon stated that, “even though no easy solution is in sight, his forceful push for peace has offered a welcome alternative to the saber-rattling in Pyongyang and Washington.” The magazine also noted that Moon’s approval rating shot up to 75% within one month of his inauguration, despite having been elected with just 40% of the vote. French President Emmanuel Macron and British Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn were also included in the magazine’s list.
