The “Great Mobile” by French artist Xavier Veilhan represents the spatial characteristics of the airport. “I wanted to make a work [that was] not so imperialistic but rather transparent and always moving, in connection with the endless movement of the passengers here,” the artist told reporters during the unveiling of the piece. Terminal 2 of Incheon Airport, which is scheduled to open to the public on Jan. 18, will house an impressive collection of artwork. Among the displays will be a 1km long pathway lined with sculptures and a “great mobile” that is over 18 meters tall. In the main terminal building there will be a LED screen showing domestic and foreign masterpieces, including Korean genre painting of famous artist Sin Yun-bok. (by Noh Hyung-seok, staff reporter)

The Korean artist Kang Hee-ra designed the piece, “Hello,” which hangs in the terminal entranceway. One thousand characters of the Korean alphabet are suspended in the air and move with the light. (by Noh Hyung-seok, staff reporter)
