The opening ceremony of the Pyeongchang Paralympics is set to take place on Mar. 9, and weather forecasters are predicting frigid temperatures for the event. The Korea Meteorological Association announced on Mar. 7 that the temperature would be between -5 and -7 degrees Celsius, with a wind chill of -12 degrees. This would be colder than the weather during the Olympics opening ceremony that took place last month. (provided by Korea Meteorological Association)
As with the opening ceremony of the Olympics, athletes from South and North Korea will make a joint entrance under the Unification Flag. A North Korean delegation which featured 20 athletes and four supporting staff members arrived at the Pyeongchang Olympic Village on Mar. 7.
