The ten-day Pyeongchang Paralympics concluded with the closing ceremony on Mar. 18. The ceremony featured fireworks, a musical performance from pianist Kim Yea-ji and singer Lee Hee-sang, and closing remarks from the chairman of the International Paralympic Committee, Andrew Parsons, who paid tribute to the late physicist Stephen Hawking. There was also a humorous appearance from the Paralympics mascot Bandabi the bear, who posed as part of a fake Instagram post. The Paralympics, which will be held in Beijing in 2022, featured 567 athletes from 49 countries. (by Park Jong-shik, staff photographer)

Clockwise from left to right are team captain Bae Dong-hyun, gold medalist Sin Eui-hyun, general manager Jung Jin-hwan, and Korean Paralympic Committee chairman Lee Myung-ho. Sin, who was injured in a car crash in 2006, became the first South Korean gold medal winner since 1992 by winning the 7.5 km cross-country ski event. During the course of the Paralympics, Sin also won a bronze medal and participated in seven different events, covering a total of nearly 64 km. (by Park Jong-shik, staff photographer)
