Photographer Ahn Se-hong hangs up photographs with fellow photographers on May 6 in preparation for his exhibition on Korea’s “comfort women,” people who were forced into sexual slavery during the Japanese occupation of Korea (1910-1945). The exhibition “Traces that Cannot be Erased” is set to take place in the basement of Seoul Citizens Hall and will feature over 90 photographs of 75 women who were forced to be comfort women. Ahn has been working on capturing the pain and internal strife of Korea’s comfort women since 1996. (Kim Bong-gyu, staff photographer)
