[Photo] Remains of Korean victims of forced migration return to homeland

In honor of Korea’s 73rd Liberation Day, a day that marks the Korean Peninsula’s liberation from Japanese occupation, 35 sets of remains of Korean who were forced to be mobilized as laborers under imperial Japan were returned to Korean soil via Gimpo International Airport on Aug. 14. A ceremony to celebrate the return and to honor the memory of Koreans were displaced from their homes and forced to work under the Japanese imperial system was held in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Plaza on Aug. 15.
