On Sept. 28, former comfort women Gil Won-ok and Kim Bok-dong visited a Chosen Gakko school in Osaka, Japan, to deliver aid money to help in the aftermath of Typhoon Jebi. Chosen Gakko are schools in Japan for students of Korean descent where they learn the Korean language and culture. “I don’t want the students to not be able to study because of a lack of funds,” Kim said. The above photos show Gil and Kim at a donation ceremony with the students of Johoku Korean Elementary School in Osaka on Sept. 28. (photos provided by the Korean Council for Justice and Remembrance)
