Outgoing US Forces Korea (USFK) Commander Gen. Vincent Brooks voiced US support for the inter-Korean military agreements signed in September. In a periodical by the Seoul Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Brooks said the “confidence building measures specified in the historic Panmunjom Declaration in the Military Domain are underway with the support and agreement of the United States,” demonstrating a rare instance of open US support for inter-Korean military cooperation.
