During a state visit to India, South Korean first lady Kim Jung-sook told Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that she hopes President Moon Jae-in’s “New Southern Policy” and Modi’s “Act East” policy can form a synergy that will contribute to the development of the Asian region. Kim emphasized that the relationship between South Korea and India stretches back over 2,000 years, with the marriage of King Suro of Geumgwan Gaya and the Indian princess Heo Hwang-ok. The photos show Kim with Modi as well as Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swara in New Delhi on Nov. 5. (Yonhap News)
