A comfort women memorial erected in the Philippines, was taken down just two days later. The statue, similar to the one that stands in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul, was erected in the city of San Pedro, south of Manila, in honor of the city’s sister relationship with Jaecheon, North Chungcheong Province. However, after massive pressure from the Japanese embassy in the Philippines, the statue was dismantled two days after its erection. (provided by the Foundation for Justice)
