[Photo] South Korea and China to increase joint efforts on fine-particle pollution

The Ministry of Environment (ME) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced on Jan. 24. that South Korea and China expand cooperative efforts on measuring and analyzing smog and fine-particle pollution. This announcement was made ME and MOFA representatives attended the 23rd South Korea-China Joint Committee on Environmental Cooperation in Seoul on Jan. 22-23. One of the cooperative efforts is the “Clean Air Project,” which will focus on analyzing fine-particle pollution from northern China and determine its exact origins. The two countries will also focus on an developing an early warning system for smog and fine-particle pollution to allow people to prepare in advance.
