[Photo] S. Korean novelist Hwang Sok-yong nominated for Man Booker International Prize

South Korean novelist Hwang Sok-yong has been nominated for the 2019 Man Booker International Prize. The prize’s website announced on Mar. 13 that Hwang has been included on a list of 13 finalists, making Hwang the second South Korean to be nominated for the prize after Han Kang in 2016 and 2018. Hwang was nominated for his 2015 novel "At Dusk," which was translated into English Sora Kim-Russell. The winner of the prize will be announced on May 21. (Hankyoreh archives)
