The ongoing “Loving Vincent” exhibition hosted by the Le Meridien hotel in Seoul has been accused of exhibiting two fake still life paintings posting as authentic works by Vincent Van Gogh. The exhibition, set to continue until Apr. 7 at the hotel’s M Contemporary gallery, has come under fire regarding the authenticity of two still life paintings, Two Harvesters and Floral Still Life, that were supposedly part of the Tietz family collection Germany. Experts in both South Korea and abroad have come out to claim the paintings are copies, while the Vincent Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam has announced that they’ve never appraised the paintings in question.
