Artificial blood vessels required for operations for patients with congenital heart conditions are expected to be supplied to South Korean hospitals after insistent demands from doctors and patient organizations. On May 23, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on that it had concluded an agreement with multinational medical equipment supplier Gore, which has withdrawn from the South Korean market, to resupply vascular grafts and other supplies necessary for critical heart operations. However, prices are expected to rise from before Gore’s withdrawal.
