Hungarian citizens and overseas Koreans gathered on the Margaret Bridge over the Danube River in Budapest to mourn the victims of the recent boat sinking. The gathering was organized via social media by a local resident. In broken Korean, over 300 Hungarians and Hungarian-Koreans sang the Korean folk song “Arirang,” holdings sheets of the song’s lyrics transcribed into the Roman alphabet. A candlelight vigil for the victims was also held on May 30, the day after the fatal accident. (Shin So-young, staff photographer)
