The Hungarian Festival Orchestra (BFO) arrived in Seoul on June 24 for a South Korean tour scheduled to last until June 28. Joined by South Korean pianist Cho Seong-jin, head conductor Ivan Fischer and his orchestra performed in Seoul’s Lotte Concert Hall on the evening of their arrival in Korea. The orchestra performed the Korean song “The Waiting Heart” in honor of the victims of the tragic boat sinking in Budapest’s Danube River. The song was selected to reflect the pain of waiting for the two victims who have yet to be recovered. The BFO will perform in Busan, Daegu, and Daejeon before leaving the country.
