The South Korean broadcaster SBS has apologized for the hunting of endangered clams portrayed on an episode on its reality TV program “Law of the Jungle.” The executive producer in charge of the program has been expelled from the program. The episode in question, aired on June 29, depicted South Korean celebrities capturing and eating giant clams in Thailand. Lee Yeol-eum, one of the celebrities who appeared on the episode, is being charged by the chief of Hat Chao Mai National Park. If the charges stick, Lee could face a maximum penalty of four years in prison and a fine of up to 40,000 baht (US$1,297).
