On July 22, a group of six young demonstrators entered the Japanese General-Consulate in Busan to protest the Japanese government’s retaliatory trade measures against South Korea. Ahead of their entry, over 40 civic groups gathered outside the general-consulate to hold a press conference condemning Tokyo’s recent export controls. The six young people shouted for Japan to apologize over the trade measures as well as for historical issues regarding its colonial occupation of Korea before being escorted out by police and security personnel.
