South Korea secured a de facto victory in case World Trade Organization (WTO) case over its anti-dumping duties on pneumatic valves from Japan. On Sept. 10, the WTO appeals panel released a report saying that South Korea’s 2016 anti-dumping duties on Japanese pneumatic valves did not violate any WTO regulations. Citing unfairly cheap prices that were up to 98.7% lower than those of domestic companies, South Korea imposed duties between 11.66 and 23.97% on Japanese pneumatic vales in December 2013 after a year-long investigation. Japan filed a complaint regarding the duties to the WTO in March 2016.
