Amid a national boycott against Japanese products and travel to Japan, sales of Japanese cars in South Korea have fallen for the fourth consecutive month. According to the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA), 1,977 new Japanese vehicles were registered for October, a decrease of 58.4% from the same month last year. Japanese cars had a share of 8.9% in the import car market in October, half of what it was a year ago. Prospects for Japanese cars look grim as the South Korea-Japan dispute on trade and historical issues seems poised to continue.
