Boys allegedly were 'curious' about dropping object off of apartment building
Police arrested two 12-year-old middle school students last week in connection with the December death of a 44-year-old man, who was hit on the head with a brick dropped from the top of a 15-story apartment building in Seoul's Mok-dong neighborhood. The boys allegedly dropped the brick out of curiosity. They are rumored to have said they wondered what would happened if he dropped a brick off of an apartment building. They are also reported to have said that they had dropped the brick after making sure that nobody was beneath them. The victim died a week after being hit on the head by the falling brick. Police, suspecting the incident involved young persons, spent a month asking around the neighborhood and eventually caught the boys, who were reported to have run in fear when they saw the victim being loaded on an ambulance and taken to the hospital. their cases were handed over to a family court on Tuesday.Please direct questions or comments to [englishhani@hani.co.kr]
