[Photo] Memorial service pays tribute to civilian casualties of the Korean War

A memorial service for civilians who were killed prior to and during the Korean War was performed by the Hongseong Cultural Association at the multi-purpose hall of the Seoul Government Office on Nov. 26. Through the ceremony, families of the victims expressed their desire for the establishment of a National Memorial Day and for amendments to the Basic Law for Finding Truth and Reconciliation. Some of the audience wept as they watched the ceremony, a portion of which featured a dancer with paper cut-outs offering a prayer for the souls of the departed. (by Baek So-ah, staff photographer)
